The development of lighting solutions for buildings of old architecture is a separate topic that requires a special approach from a design point of view.
The lighting of cultural heritage sites, at a minimum, should not distort the appearance of the building and stand out from the general style of the surrounding urban space, and, at a maximum, emphasize the advantages and architectural features of the building. In such works, light harmony is very important. Beautiful lighting, without a doubt, can give a building new life and emphasize its individuality.
About the project
The four-story building on the Ostozhenka 37/7 street was built in 1901 for the Moscow Council of Orphanages. The items donated to the council were stored and sold there. The building does not have a very typical appearance - it is “narrow”, made in the Russian style, with a blank side facade. The building is also known for the graffiti “I.S.Turgenev on vacation” painted on it. The object is an important part of the city’s tourist center and should attract attention not only during the day, but also at night.
Implementation: how it happened
First of all, the designers were faced with the task of emphasizing the beautiful shape of the windows. They are the ones who attract attention in the first place. For this, it was decided to use classic lighting in cool tones to successfully set off the light green shade of the finish.
The RADUGA Stria linear luminaires and Duplex bidirectional spotlights were used in the work. It was important to position the luminaires correctly - some were installed on the drains under the windows, and the other was mounted on the ground floor. All work was performed with the utmost care so as not to damage the architectural monument.
This project was fully implemented using RADUGA LED equipment and was completed in the autumn of 2016. Our task was to give this building with an interesting history a new life and help it not to get lost in the general background of one of the central streets of the capital. In our opinion, thanks to properly selected equipment, it was possible to favorably emphasize the architectural design of the building and highlight it due to the correct lighting.

Our task was to give this building with an interesting history a new life and help not to get lost against the general background of one of the central streets of the capital. In our opinion, thanks to the correctly selected equipment, it was possible to favorably distinguish the architectural pattern and highlight it due to the correct lighting.
