The residents of Cherepovets have already nicknamed the Arkhangelsk overpass the Bridge of a Thousand Lights. Almost three thousand RADUGA™ STRIA LED luminaires are installed along the roadway, on supports and pylons, clearly highlighting the graceful structure of the bridge against the background of the dark surface of the Sheksna River. The residents of Cherepovets chose monochrome static lighting — 52% of city residents voted for this option.
“Just look how beautiful it is! Thousands of lights decorated the harsh metal of the bridge and were reflected in the waters of the Sheksna. I am sure that residents and guests of the city will be happy to take photos and shoot videos against the backdrop of the bridge,” said Oleg Kuvshinnikov, Governor of the Vologda Region, at the ceremonial switching on of the architectural and artistic lighting of the bridge.
The Arkhangelsk Bridge, built in record time - in just a thousand days - connected the four largest microdistricts of Cherepovets with one transport ring. According to the head of the region, Oleg Kuvshinnikov, this will relieve congestion on the Oktyabrsky Bridge, on which any accident could paralyze the city. The opening of the bridge also affected intercity travel: thanks to it, the distance from Cherepovets to Moscow was reduced by 132 km.
