Lyceum No. 9 of Belgorod is one of the oldest educational institutions in the region. Its history begins in 1860 - from the founding of the Belgorod Women's School. At different periods of history, the building housed a pro-gymnasium, a general education school, an economics and mathematics school, and a gymnasium. In 2004, the institution received the status of a lyceum.
In 2023, the major renovations were completed in the lyceum building, which is an architectural and cultural monument of the 19th century, preserving elements of the original style as carefully as possible. The final chord before the commissioning of the facility for the new academic year was the inclusion of a modernized façade lighting system.
The general contractor, LLC SD "TRANSYUZHSTROY", decided to move away from the original lighting scheme, in which the entire facade was brightly and evenly flooded with sodium floodlights without secondary optics. In such a light, the architectural features of the building were lost. To correct this, it was decided to focus on the pronounced geometry of the structure, highlighting columns and pilasters. The company turned to us for selection of equipment and calculations.
Our experts suggested using RADUGA™ luminaires for sliding lighting, which effectively emphasizes the texture of red brick and the pattern of decorative masonry.
The compact bidirectional spotlights of the DUPLEX series are installed at the ground floor level. The SIGNUM architectural spotlights with an opening angle of 60 degrees are used on the central columns of the facade. Due to the wide luminous flux, the illumination of the arches of the window arches and the figured masonry of the roof cornice is created.
