The memorial “Builders of Silent Frontiers” in the village of Baygulovo (Kozlovsky district, Republic of Chuvashia) is dedicated to the home front workers who, during the Great Patriotic War, built defensive lines that passed through the territory of Chuvashia. More than 170 thousand residents of the republic were mobilized here for the construction of the Sursky border. Up to 110 thousand people dug trenches every day. And mostly they were women. Work did not stop under any conditions, even in frosts of -40°C. This is a place for preserving the historical memory of our people.
The entire complex, right down to every light source, immerses visitors in the tragic and heroic past of our people during the Great Patriotic War. Tracer bullet marks resemble the red broken lines of RADUGA™ INTERRA CU ground LED luminaires built into the paving stones. At the same time, during the day the lamps do not stand out against the background of the stone due to installation in a single line flush with the surface. When darkness falls, the 888 meters of red lines create a dramatic atmosphere in the memorial square.
To illuminate the stele and monuments with the names of the areas where the construction of defensive structures took place, classic architectural lamps with adjustable angle INTERRA are used. They are designed for flood lighting from the ground.
When choosing equipment, customers were based on the requirements of reliability and resistance to atmospheric influences, taking into account the significance of the facility and operating conditions (open space near the federal highway).
The housings of RADUGA™ luminaires are made of anodized aluminum with corrosion protection, mounting screws are made of stainless steel. The vandal-resistant design of the lamps is characterized by increased wear resistance.
The lighting project for the memorial “Builders of Silent Frontiers” became the winner of the “Golden Photon” 2022 competition in the “Project of the Year” category, nomination “Lighting of landscape areas and public spaces (squares, pedestrian areas, etc.)".
The project was performed by "Chuvashgrazhdanproekt" JSC, the general contractor was the Mortgage Corporation of the Republic of Chuvashia, the customer was the State institution of the Republic of Chuvashia, the Regional Procurement Center of the Republic of Chuvashia, and the supply and installation of equipment was performed by "RSK GROUP" LLC.
